Houston Texans at Dallas Cowboys predictions

The Cowboys' season looks over. Starting quarterback Dak Prescott is out for the rest of the campaign, there's no worthwhile replacement and their poor 3-6 record looks set to get even worse when their state rivals the Texans visit on Monday.

The mood in the Houston camp might not be great, either, as they make this short trip after suffering back-to-back losses to the Jets and Lions, but at 6-4 and with the lead in the AFC South division they have far more to fight for at AT&T Stadium.

The visitors went close to an impressive victory over the red-hot Lions last week, leading 23-7 at half-time but fading late to lose a tough battle 26-23. Their offensive line has allowed 12 sacks of quarterback CJ Stroud over the last two weeks but the Dallas pass-rush is not as strong as it was last season, even though star man Micah Parsons returned from injury last week.

The weak Dallas run defence, which ranks 31st of 32 in opponent rushing yards allowed per game with 152, could be exploited by Houston, who love to run their offence through running back Joe Mixon.

The match between the Dallas offence and  Houston defence is even more one-sided. The Texans are one of the NFL's best units against the pass and Dallas QB Cooper Rush should be in for another rough outing after passing for only 45 yards against the Eagles.

The Cowboys gained just 146 total yards last week and Houston should have few problems winning this one by a wide margin.
