Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants predictions

Points could be in plentiful supply at the MetLife Stadium as the New York Giants host the struggling Dallas Cowboys in this week's Thursday Night Football encounter in the NFL.

Mike Zimmer’s Dallas defence has looked lost over the last fortnight, suffering a 44-19 loss to the Saints in Week Two and a 28-25 defeat to the Ravens last Sunday, both of which came at home.

A pressurised locker room probably won’t help their cause, either. Dallas rank last in every rushing-defence category that matters, and they've allowed 29.7 points per game – only the Rams and Panthers have been more accommodating to opponents. 

The Giants' defence looked much improved in their 21-15 Week Three victory, although that was against an unsure Deshaun Watson and a limping Cleveland Browns offensive line. 

With a run game that is almost non-existent, the Cowboys lead the NFL in pass attempts per game, averaging 41 passes, and they are unlikely to deviate away from that strategy too much in New Jersey.

Dallas's offence still features star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and tight end Jake Ferguson, who are two of the best at their position in the NFL, and quarterback Dak Prescott has been extremely comfortable at MetLife Stadium. 

Prescott hasn't lost at the East Rutherford venue since December 2016 and in the six other games he’s played at the Meadowlands he and his teammates averaged 31 points per game. 

The Cowboys won’t be happy after their limp start to the season and should come out firing, while the Giants will also hope to score heavily given their visitors' shaky defence.
