Classy Colombia give themselves a shot of World Cup qualification

Quintero quality shines though

Poland 0
Colombia 3
Mina 40, Falcao 70, Cuadrado 75

Three things we learned...

1Colombia the team to avoid in Group H
They are not even through to the last 16 and must beat Senegal to qualify for the knockout phase but it was pretty clear from the 3-0 tonking of Poland that Colombia are the best side in Group H.

It was impossible to judge Colombia in the defeat to Japan as they had Carlos Sanchez sent off after just three minutes but they put in an excellent team performance to beat Poland with ease.

Jose Pekerman's men were solid defensively, combative in midfield and the three attacking players behind Radamel Falcao - Juan Cuadrado, Juan Quintero and James Rodriguez were a joy to watch.

2Quality Quintero can make grade in Europe
Quintero has failed to make giant strides signing for Porto in 2013, being sent on loan to Rennes, Independiente Medellin and River Plate but the wonderful 25-year-old playmaker is too good not to be plying his trade in Europe.

Some of his play was sensational against Poland, particularly the pass for Falcao to nab the crucial second goal.

3Poland are a team in crisis
Clearly all is not well for eliminated Poland and that's great news for their final opponents Japan.

Adam Nawalka made four changes from the Senegal defeat but they were even worse against Colombia and some of his substitutions, leaving big names such as Kuba and Arkadiusz Milik on the bench throughout, suggests all is not well.
