Singapore Grand Prix predictions

Lando Norris is well placed to take further points off championship leader Max Verstappen as the pair line up on the front row for Sunday’s Singapore Grand Prix.

The weekend had not started well for Red Bull ace Verstappen, but he produced a superb qualifying lap when it mattered.

But even that was not enough to eclipse Norris, who has clearly been the man to beat all weekend.

Norris's McLaren team took the lead in the constructors’ championship with Oscar Piastri’s victory in Baku last weekend, but the Bristolian trails Verstappen by 59 points in the drivers’ standings.

The McLaren driver has failed to lead at the end of the first lap after all his previous five pole positions, but his starts have been better recently.

Four-time Singapore winner Lewis Hamilton was down in the dumps after Friday’s running, but his Mercedes was transformed overnight and the seven-time world champion lines up third on the grid.

It had looked at times that he may do even better than that, and he will be relishing the prospect of a fight with his 2021 title rival Verstappen.

Hamilton has looked more comfortable than his teammate George Russell all weekend, which hasn’t often been the case recently, but this is a circuit he has always enjoyed.

The prices are skinny for a podium finish, but it could just be worth backing Hamilton to finish in the top two.

Williams picked up ten valuable points in Baku last weekend, and they will be disappointed that Alex Albon and Franco Colapinto start 11th and 12th having looked stronger in the preliminaries.

Bet365’s group betting pitches Albon against Nico Hulkenberg, Yuki Tsunoda and Sergio Perez.

Albon will need to make a forward move in the race to beat those rivals, but at 10-1 he is worth chancing.
