Katie Taylor a huge favourite to retain world title at York Hall
Martin J Ward fights for European super-featherweight crown
Sky Sports Main Event, 9.45pm Wednesday
Irish Olympic hero Katie Taylor won her first professional world title with an impressive victory on the Anthony Joshua v Carlos Takam undercard, and she makes her first defence of her WBA lightweight belt just six weeks later, topping the bill at London's York Hall.
Opponent Jessica McCaskill is no mug. An accomplished amateur with two American Golden Gloves titles, CasKILLA has been hounding Taylor on social media in an attempt to get the fight made, and she has got her wish.
McCaskill claims she has found flaws in Taylor's game and will exploit her weaknesses, but bookmakers do not share her optimism and make her a 16-1 underdog with Taylor almost unbackable at no better than 1-66.
Taylor won her title with a convincing points victory but could not stop Anahi Esther Sanchez despite dropping her with a body shot in the second round, and the prices suggest this will go the distance too. Taylor is 8-15 to win on points and 6-4 to get the stoppage.
Martin J Ward is 1-12 to win the vacant European super-featherweight title against Spain's Juli Giner, while further down the card Conor Benn is 1-200 to beat Cedrick Peynaud.
