Sunday's European Masters champion, Thriston Lawrence, tees off at high noon UK and Ireland time in round one of the Made In HimmerLand, with Thorbjorn Olesen and Richie Ramsay for company.

Lawrence is making his HimmerLand debut and may need time to settle after his Crans-sur-Sierre playoff success. Local hero Olesen would be the selection for punters wishing to play on the marquee match, but preference is for a different Dane in the 11.30am threeball.

Lucas Bjerregaard will not want for support or course knowledge this week. The 31-year-old giant uses HimmerLand for regular practice when in Denmark - he is the touring pro attached to the club - so he can hit the ground running in his match against Darius van Driel and Masahiro Kawamura.

Bjerregaard showed signs of life with third place in the Cazoo Open at Celtic Manor at the start of August, so he could be set to repeat his 2021 campaign, which started poorly and finished strongly.

Van Driel missed the cut by nine shots on his HimmerLand debut last year. Kawamura is a steadier and more threatening opponent, but Bjerregaard represents value at 19-10.

George Coetzee was watching beside the green as Lawrence triumphed in Crans-sur-Sierre - seeing his fellow South African hold his nerve in a tight finish will have inspired Coetzee - and it could be the older man's turn to shine this week.

Coetzee won the Vodacom Origins of Golf event on the Sunshine Tour at the start of this month, then returned to the DP World Tour with 16th place in Crans. Those bright efforts suggest Coetzee will boss Tour maidens Lukas Nemecz and Alfredo Garcia-Heredia.
