Match previews

Perennial strugglers Hull KR are in uncharted territory at the moment as they find themselves fifth in the Betfred Super League and they can bolster their playoff claims with a win over Wigan Warriors at Craven Park.

The Robins are more accustomed to battling it out at the other end of the table but their experienced squad has improved steadily over the course of the season and as a result they find themselves mixing it with the big boys.

And they don't come much bigger than Wigan, who were seconds away from winning the Grand Final last season.

Rovers haven't been intimidated by them though, winning both meetings home and away this season, and they look great value to land another prize scalp.

The Robins find themselves above city rivals Hull FC for the first time in years and that is unlikely to change when the Black & Whites head to the south of France to take on leaders Catalans.

Sweltering temperatures are forecast in Perpignan and Hull's threadbare squad could wilt in the heat of the Dragons' lair.

The Dragons have won 12 of their last 13 fixtures and should get back on track after last week's defeat to title rivals St Helens, while Leeds should bounce back following their surprise loss to Castleford last time out.

The Rhinos take on a Leigh side who have lost all 15 matches this season but ran Hull KR close last Sunday.

The Centurions are a tough nut to crack on home soil, though, so a 14-point start looks generous.

In Friday's remaining fixture, in-form Huddersfield should make it four wins on the spin against struggling Salford.

The Giants are in great nick with winger Jermain McGillvary the pick of the bunch with seven tries in this last three outings.
