Stockport’s riches were enough to prise manager Dave Challinor away from League Two Hartlepool and his first National League game in charge of the club can result in victory at home to Bromley.
Challinor, who steered Pools back to the Football League last season, would have been impressed as his new recruits clung on to a 2-2 draw at League One Bolton in the FA Cup last weekend.
County illustrated their attacking qualities against the Trotters and with their squad bolstered by the presence of Antoni Sarcevic, Ollie Crankshaw, John Rooney, Paddy Madden and Scott Quigley, a playoff push should be the minimum requirement.
Bromley have enjoyed a fast start to the season and are seven points and places above Stockport, but they lack County’s star talent and Challinor’s appointment may be what is needed to finally see the hosts click.
