Monday's World Cup qualifying predictions

Albania defended well to restrict England to just two goals at Wembley on Friday and they can build on that solid performance by overcoming Andorra at home, with 1-0 appealing in the correct-score market.

The Three Lions should dominate Group K but second place – which offers a potential route to the World Cup via the playoffs – could be closely contested by Albania and Serbia.

Albania will want to stake an early claim to be runners-up and get their first points on the board when facing Andorra, who are 106 places below them in Fifa's rankings, although it may only be a narrow home success in Tirana against opponents who have lost 1-0 in four of their last seven outings.

There are also two games in Group G on Monday, when Poland should do enough to make it two wins from two when they host Malta.

The Poles had to rely on a late Robert Lewandowski goal to edge out Lithuania 1-0 on Friday and it’s likely to be another close clash in Warsaw against a Malta side who began their bid to qualify for a first World Cup finals with a 1-0 defeat at home to Finland.

Another victory for Michal Probierz’s side by just one goal would leave them in good shape in the group at this early stage.

For the Finns, meanwhile, that victory in Malta ended their dismal six-game losing streak and they can join Poland on six points at the top of the table by securing victory at Lithuania, who have now suffered eight consecutive defeats.
