Women's Super League football predictions

With Sky's intended live game between Chelsea and Manchester United called off because of the Blues' European schedule and potential title challengers Manchester City and Arsenal expected to claim comfortable wins over West Ham and Everton, Sunday's live BBC1 game between Tottenham and Liverpool looks the most interesting contest in the Women's Super League this week.

Spurs comfortably saw off promoted Crystal Palace 4-0 in their opener, but the Eagles' subsequent 7-0 loss to Chelsea means that form may be little to get excited about, and Robert Vilahamn's side then needed an injury-time Bethany England goal to prevent Aston Villa recording just their second home win in 15 league outings.

With that in mind, the Londoners may be vulnerable against the Reds, who surpassed expectations by finishing fourth last season.

Opening draws against West Ham and Leicester have been disappointments, as was a League Cup defeat to Manchester United on Wednesday, but they have only been beaten by the big three – City, Chelsea and Arsenal – in their last 21 league games, so they are worth chancing at Brisbane Road in the draw-no-bet market.
