Friday's Women's Super League football predictions

Manchester City have enjoyed a perfect season domestically and in the Champions League since their opening 2-2 draw with Arsenal and there seems little reason to oppose the Women's Super League leaders when they host Tottenham.

Gareth Taylor's side, who celebrated a victory over European champions Barcelona last month, missed out on the title by goal difference last term and have won 17 of their last 20 home matches, so it would be understandable if Spurs were not looking forward to visiting a venue where they were beaten 7-0 12 months ago.

Tottenham, meanwhile, have had an underwhelming campaign and gained only their second success of the campaign last week when they needed an injury-time own goal to see off struggling West Ham.

They have conceded 14 goals in their last five away games, including a 3-0 loss at Manchester United and a 5-2 defeat to Chelsea, so City could again run riot and win a game that features at least four goals.

Arsenal were also expected to push five-time title winners Chelsea all the way this term, but they have already slipped off the pace and have plenty to prove against Brighton at the Emirates, where they have failed to win any of their three league home games this campaign.

The Seagulls finished last term with a 5-0 loss against the Gunners at Boreham Wood, but they have had a strong start and their only defeat has come against the leaders.

Their four victories have all been against teams in the bottom half - Everton, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Leicester - but they are equipped to give Arsenal plenty of food for thought, so expect both teams to score in north London.
