Sean Dyche has been backed into favouritism to be Everton’s next manager after the club sacked Ronald Koeman following a woeful start to the campaign.

Dyche opened up as a 4-1 shot when betting first settled after the axe had fallen on Koeman but the Burnley boss is now as short as 5-4 and best at 15-8 with Betfred to swap Turf Moor for Goodison Park.

The promotion of Dyche to the top of the market saw him jump above Everton Under-23 manager David Unsworth in the betting – the early market leader has been eased to 6-1 with Sky Bet.

David Moyes, who left in 2013 for Manchester United, is 7-1 for a sensational return to Goodison Park. There is no doubt the Scot did a solid job at Everton but his stock has since fallen following disappointing spells with United and Sunderland.

Although Everton sit in the bottom three the vacancy will still be considered attractive to many and Carlo Ancelotti can be backed at 7-1.

The much-travelled Italian, who has been in charge of Milan, Juventus, Chelsea, Paris St-Germain, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich among others, is without a job after being sacked by the German giants.

Out-of-work Sam Allardyce is next in the betting at 10-1 and it’s 20-1 bar the front five in the betting, while a new market has formed on the next manager to leave his current position.

Dyche, who is also being linked with the Leicester vacancy, is 9-4 with West Ham’s Slaven Bilic a warm order at 8-13 with Sky Bet to follow Frank de Boer, Craig Shakespeare and Koeman on the managerial scrapheap.

Koeman looked doomed after Sunday’s 5-2 defeat to Arsenal when he was only 1-3 with Coral to be the next Premier League boss to leave his current position and 8-11 with Hills to be out before Everton’s next top-flight fixture.
