Tottenham vs Elfsborg predictions
Ange Postecoglou is 2-5 with Hills to be the next Premier League manager to leave their post but Tottenham's potential in cup competitions appears to be one of the things keeping him in the Spurs hotseat.
Three of Tottenham's next four matches are in knockout competitions, with the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final at Liverpool and an FA Cup fourth-round tie with Aston Villa next week following Thursday's Europa League tie with Swedish side Elfsborg.
A point should be enough for Tottenham to finish in the top eight, but a win would likely do wonders for their fragile confidence and they will be expected to guarantee their place in the last 16 with a routine home victory.
Elfsborg have acquitted themselves well in this season's competition, beating Roma, Qarabag and Nice, and they are on course to secure progression to the knockout round. However, those victories have all come in Sweden and they have lost their three games away from the Boras Arena at AZ Alkmaar, Galatasaray and Athletic Bilbao.
They failed to steer a single shot on target in a 3-0 defeat away to Bilbao in November and Elfsborg have since lost top goalscorer Michael Baidoo, who joined Plymouth earlier this month.
Even with a patchwork defence, injury-hit Tottenham should fancy their chances of keeping Elfsborg at arm's length in north London, especially as the Swedes have commanded a 31.4 per cent average share of possession in this season's Europa League, the lowest of the 36 teams in the competition.
Clean sheets have been hard to come by for Spurs but this could be the perfect opportunity for their makeshift defence to boost their confidence and a home win to nil looks a good bet at odds-against.
Key stat
Elfsborg's average of 7.1 shots per game is the lowest in this season's Europa League.
Tottenham vs Elfsborg team news
Tottenham
There are no signs of Tottenham's injury crisis easing with Pape Matar Sarr to be assessed and Richarlison a doubt. It is hoped James Maddison will be fit but Dominic Solanke, Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner, Micky van de Ven and Destiny Udogie are among those still sidelined. Goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky is ineligible.
Elfsborg
Jalal Abdullai could again start up front following Michael Baidoo's departure.

Elfsborg (3-4-3): Petterson; Buhari, Holmen, Yegbe; Hedlund, B Zeneli, Ouma, Hult; A Zeneli, Abdullai, Rapp.

Tottenham vs Elfsborg bet builder predictions
Under 3.5 goals
Elfsborg's last three games in the Europa League have produced a total of just four goals and this could be another low-scoring contest given Tottenham's injury crisis.
Heung-Min Son to score
Heung-Min Son has scored three times in this season's Europa League and, with limited competition up front, he looks the most likely to net for Spurs.
Elfsborg to have under 2.5 shots on target
Elfsborg have averaged a competition-low 7.1 shots per game in this term's Europa League and scored with just one shot on target against Nice, so do not expect them to pepper the Tottenham goal.
