Scottish football predictions

Rangers got their Europa League campaign off to the perfect start with a 2-0 win away to Malmo on Thursday and they are a short price to follow up with a home league win over Hibs in Sunday's televised William Hill Scottish Premiership encounter.

The Light Blues' Old Firm rivals Celtic visit St Johnstone 24 hours earlier and Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers could select his team with one eye on Tuesday's Champions League showdown with Borussia Dortmund.

Star striker Kyogo Furuhashi may be saved for the trip to Germany so Adam Idah could be asked to lead the line for the Scottish champions against the Saints.

Idah netted twice against Falkirk in the League Cup last weekend and before that came off the bench to score in Celtic's emphatic 5-1 Champions League win over Slovan Bratislava.

The Ireland international averaged 1.18 league goals per 90 minutes while on loan at Parkhead last season and is one of a number of penalty-taking options for the champions.

Aberdeen are keeping pace with Celtic at the top of the early standings and have won all 11 of their matches in all competitions under new boss Jimmy Thelin.

The Swede is getting the best out of Pape Habib Gueye, who has scored five league goals this term, while Kevin Nisbet is leading the line with aplomb.

The Dons visit a Dundee team who have won only one of their first five league games and have lost back-to-back matches against Ross County and Rangers.

Another Aberdeen success looks the likeliest outcome at Dens Park.
