Best Premier League bet

Manchester City vs Fulham
3pm Saturday

Slovan Bratislava must be relieved that the new Champions League format means they have to play Manchester City only once after Tuesday's 4-0 home defeat to the English champions.

City had 14 shots on target to their hosts' none, also hitting the woodwork three times, but they may have to work harder for victory against Fulham.

The Cottagers were thumped 5-1 and 4-0 by the Citizens last season but their only defeat this term was a 1-0 opening-night loss at Manchester United, who scored in the 87th minute.

Striker Raul Jimenez has opened the scoring in Fulham's last three league matches, a 1-1 draw with West Ham and victories over Newcastle and Nottingham Forest, and attacking midfielders Emile Smith Rowe, Alex Iwobi and Adama Traore have started the season well.

Fulham had 11 shots on target in their 3-1 home win against the Magpies and they can get on the scoresheet at the Etihad Stadium, where City have conceded in each of their last seven league victories.

Best EFL bet

Norwich vs Hull
Sky Sports+, 12.30pm Saturday

Norwich and Hull both had encouraging midweek Championship results as the Canaries drew 1-1 with title favourites Leeds and the Tigers won 3-1 away to QPR.

That followed a 3-1 victory at Stoke and a 4-1 home win over Cardiff for Hull, who had to come from a goal down in both games.

Seven different Hull players have found the net during their hat-trick of league wins and Norwich have also been in free-scoring form, beating Watford 4-1 and Derby 3-2 before the draw with Leeds.

Josh Sargent's early penalty was the Canaries' only shot on target on Tuesday but they should be more positive against the Tigers and backing both teams to score and over 2.5 goals appeals, having copped in all four meetings between the clubs in 2022-23 and 2023-24.

There have been goals at both ends in all five of Norwich's home matches this term, including a 2-2 draw with Blackburn and a 4-3 EFL Cup win over Stevenage.

Best European bet

Bochum vs Wolfsburg
2.30pm Saturday

Bochum were dreaming of a famous derby victory over Borussia Dortmund when they went 2-0 up inside 21 minutes at the Westfalenstadion last Friday.

However, their defence was ruthlessly exposed by BVB, who rallied to win 4-2, and over 3.5 goals is worth backing when Bochum host Wolfsburg on Saturday.

That was a winning bet in each of Bochum's last four Bundesliga matches in 2023-24 and their most recent home fixture produced a 2-2 draw with Holstein Kiel.

Wolfsburg have already faced four of last term's top six, losing 3-2 to Bayern Munich, 2-1 to Eintracht Frankfurt and 4-3 to champions Bayer Leverkusen before a 2-2 draw with Stuttgart, and the goals are unlikely to dry up this weekend.
