Best Premier League bet

Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace
3pm Thursday

Antoine Semenyo continued his outstanding Premier League campaign by scoring in Bournemouth's 3-0 victory at Manchester United and he is a tempting anytime-scorer bet in Thursday's home fixture against Crystal Palace.

Semenyo put the cherry on top for the Cherries at Old Trafford, tucking away a cutback from teammate Dango Ouattara to make it 3-0 in the 63rd minute.

The right-winger had four attempts at goal against United, two of them on target, and Bournemouth supporters have come to expect that kind of impact from him this season.

He has scored five goals in 16 league starts, including one in November's 2-1 home win over Manchester City.

Remarkably, Semenyo has had four or more shots in 12 of those 16 appearances and he faces a Palace side who conceded five goals against Arsenal last weekend.

The Eagles, like Manchester United, play with three at the back and the in-form Semenyo should be encouraged by their struggles against Gunners wingers Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

Best EFL bet

Sheffield United vs Burnley
3pm Thursday

Sheffield United conceded a record tally of 104 goals in last season's Premier League and Burnley were also relegated from the top flight, leaking 2.05 goals per game.

Both clubs have bounced back impressively in the Championship and the Blades and Clarets go into their top-of-the-table clash at Bramall Lane with superb defensive records to protect.

Leaders Sheffield United have conceded only two goals in ten home matches, also beating Millwall 1-0 and Cardiff 2-0 in their last two away fixtures.

Burnley's last two results were 2-1 wins against Norwich and Watford – absolute goalfests, relatively speaking, for a team whose matches are producing an average of 1.68 goals per game.

Scott Parker's side started the campaign by thrashing Luton 4-1 and Cardiff 5-0 but they have scored just 19 goals in 20 subsequent league fixtures.

Burnley's three toughest away trips this season ended in a 1-0 win at Leeds, a 1-0 defeat at Sunderland and a 0-0 draw at West Brom and backing one or both teams not to score at Bramall Lane looks a solid bet.

Best Serie A bet

Parma vs Monza
2pm Saturday

While teams in the Bundesliga, La Liga and Ligue 1 enjoy a winter break, the Serie A campaign continues at the weekend so Parma have the chance to put their 5-0 rout at Roma behind them.

That result was an anomaly for a side who have generally competed well on their return to the top flight and they appeal at odds-against to beat bottom club Monza.

Parma have beaten Milan and Lazio at home this term while Monza have picked up only three points from their last ten fixtures and their seven goals during that run include a penalty and an own goal.
