Best Premier League bet

Everton vs Chelsea
2pm Sunday

Everton had to dig deep in last weekend's 0-0 draw at Arsenal and their defenders can expect another tough shift when they host Chelsea, the leading scorers in this season's Premier League.

The Toffees have kept four clean sheets in their last five league games although the exception was a 4-0 defeat at Manchester United.

Chelsea are bidding for a sixth straight league victory and their last two away trips produced a 5-1 rout of Southampton and a 4-3 win at Tottenham.

The Blues have a host of goalscoring threats and winger Noni Madueke is worth an each-way bet to open the scoring at Goodison Park.

He marked his first league appearance of the season with a hat-trick against Wolves at Molineux but has found the net only twice in 14 subsequent outings.

However, one of those goals came in this month's victory at Southampton, where Madueke had seven shots, and he racked up another seven attempts in last weekend's 2-1 home win over Brentford.

Seven of his 14 shots in those two games were on target and he may well add to his Premier League goal tally against Everton.

Best EFL bet

Wigan vs Shrewsbury
3pm Saturday

Wigan caused a minor upset in League One last weekend, winning 2-0 at Bolton, and they are expected to follow up with a home victory against struggling Shrewsbury.

A low-scoring win for the Latics looks the best bet despite the fact that the Shrews have suffered back-to-back 4-1 defeats to Cambridge and Wycombe.

The eight goals conceded in those losses came from just ten shots on target and they restricted Blackpool to seven attempts in a 2-1 home defeat at the start of this month.

Before the win at Bolton, Wigan had mustered only three shots on target in defeats to nil against Leyton Orient and Huddersfield.

Just two of their 19 league matches this season have featured over 3.5 goals and they may struggle to cut loose against the division's bottom club.

Best European bet

Venezia vs Cagliari
OneFootball, 2pm Sunday

Serie A's bottom club, Venezia, face fellow strugglers Cagliari this weekend, and the visitors may enjoy a memorable trip to Venice.

Cagliari scored only once in their first five games of the campaign, but they have produced some promising performances since then, beating Parma and Torino 3-2, picking up a point at Juventus and sharing a 3-3 draw with Milan last month.

They lost 1-0 at home to in-form Atalanta last weekend but had eight shots on target to the league leaders' two.

Venezia have suffered ten defeats in 16 league matches this season and their only win in their last 11 came against an Udinese side reduced to ten men in the 53rd minute.
