Best Premier League bet

Everton vs Brentford
3pm Saturday

Everton are hoping for some home comforts when they face Brentford at Goodison Park after a couple of frustrating away trips before the international break.

The Toffees lost 1-0 at Southampton and drew 0-0 at West Ham despite winning the shot count 16-9 and 18-11 in those two games.

One of Everton's bright sparks was Danish winger Jesper Lindstrom, who had six shots – three of them on target – at St Mary's and the London Stadium.

He also had four attempts at goal in 61 minutes on his first Premier League start against Leicester in September and is a tempting each-way price to score first against leaky Brentford.

Lindstrom is on loan from Napoli, where 20 of his 22 Serie A appearances last term came as a substitute. But he scored seven goals in 22 Bundesliga starts for Eintracht Frankfurt in 2022-23 and should benefit from playing regularly on Merseyside.

Best EFL bet

Bristol City vs Burnley
Sky Sports+, 12.30pm Saturday

Bristol City have lost only one of their last ten Championship matches and they should trouble promotion contenders Burnley in one of Saturday's early kick-offs.

The Robins' only recent reverse came in their last home fixture against second-placed Sheffield United, who scored in the 86th and 98th minutes to pinch a 2-1 win.

Blades boss Chris Wilder said afterwards that "it was a tight game against good opposition" and Bristol City lived up to that praise by winning 2-0 at Norwich four days later.

The Robins held title favourites Leeds to a 0-0 draw on October 26 and appeal with the draw no bet against Scott Parker's Burnley.

The Clarets scored nine goals in their first two matches of the season, thumping Luton 4-1 and Cardiff 5-0, but they have struck only nine times in their following 13 games.

That lean run includes goalless draws with promoted Oxford, struggling Preston and bottom club QPR, while Burnley needed a 94th-minute Jay Rodriguez penalty to seal a 1-0 home win over Swansea last time out.

Best European bet

Celta Vigo vs Barcelona
Premier Sports 2 & LaLigaTV, 8pm Saturday

After winning 11 of their first 12 La Liga matches under Hansi Flick, Barcelona lost 1-0 at Real Sociedad on November 10.

Despite having 70 per cent of possession, Barca failed to test home goalkeeper Alex Remiro but they are worth backing to put that blip behind them on this weekend's trip to Celta Vigo.

Flick's men had won their previous seven games in all competitions by an aggregate score of 29-5 and that sequence included a 4-1 Champions League victory over Bayern Munich and a 4-0 rout of champions Real Madrid.

Both teams have scored in six of Celta Vigo's seven matches against top-half teams but they have gained only two points from those games so an entertaining Barcelona victory is worth a bet.

The League Two ante-post favourites have suffered worrying losses to Accrington and Harrogate recently and look too short against competent visitors Barrow
