European Super League collapse is a great moment to reset English football
Daniel Levy should get Graham Potter to weave his magic at Tottenham
I feel proud that people have risen up and shown these six greedy Premier League owners that the sport of football which we love so dearly is about 100-plus years of history rather than just them.
A chaotic few days ended with England's big six quite rightly withdrawing from the Super League, but I don't think for one moment the idea has totally gone away and it would be wrong for everyone involved in football to believe that is the case.
Sure, it has been binned for now, but the can has just been kicked down the road and unless we make drastic changes it will rear its ugly head once again at some stage.
It starts with government legislation to protect football institutions and then we need to find a way to make sure more, not less, Premier League money is filtered down to the EFL.
English football is about the 92 clubs - and the entire pyramid actually - and in some respects this could be the perfect time to reset because it has become too rich at the top.
I know people are calling for sanctions but it would be wrong to punish the big six with point deductions or such like.
This wasn't a club decision. It wasn't the players and it certainly wasn't the fans and the kind of penalties being spoken about totally punish the wrong people.
I'd like to think the American owners at Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal could be forced out, although I see it differently at Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham.
City and Chelsea's ownership have shown they are not really in it for the money and they were just swept along with the fear of missing out, while in some respects Daniel Levy did an amazing job even getting Spurs a place at the top table.
Potter would work his magic at Spurs
I was surprised by the timing of Tottenham sacking Jose Mourinho because in a one-off final against Manchester City he is just about the perfect man to take them on.
It's possible for a manager to lose a dressing-room and I am not Mourinho's biggest fan but even if the players had given up on him they would have turned up for a final at Wembley on Sunday.
I have worked with interim Ryan Mason and he is a great guy who will represent the fans on the touchline in many respects and I am hearing he could have a successful career as a coach, but it's City to win to nil where my money will be going.
In terms of a Mourinho replacement, I don't see why Julian Nagelsmann would take it if there was even a sniff of Bayern Munich also being interested. I know Bayern can be hard work in such a powerful organisation, but there is no bigger job for a German.
Brendan Rodgers is another candidate but he would, or should, see it as a sideways step from Leicester.
If Levy wants to bring back a Mauricio Pochettino-type then Graham Potter would be perfect. Potter reminds me of Poch when he first went to Spurs and he'd be a good fit for a rebuild.
