Scottish football predictions

It's seven William Hill Premiership matches without a win for Aberdeen, who head for Dundee United in free fall.

The Dons have yielded second-place in the Scottish top-flight table to Rangers and Dundee United can move just three points off the Reds with a victory at Tannadice.

Jimmy Thelin's men were crushed 4-0 at Kilmarnock on Thursday in a game where Aberdeen created an expected-goals total of only 0.51 and fired just three shots on target.

The Dons were competitively outplayed in a 3-1 defeat to Hibs before this week's Rugby Park calamity and even lowly St Johnstone left the Granite City with a point.

Dundee United played pretty well to beat St Johnstone 2-1 in Perth last time out and the Terrors look a good bet to extend Aberdeen’s nightmare run.

Dundee suffered a disastrous 3-0 home defeat to Ross County on Thursday and that made it three straight defeats for the Dark Blues.

Tony Docherty's team lost the shot count 21-9 to a Staggies side who hadn't won a single league away match before visiting Dens Park.

St Mirren will be full of confidence after their excellent 2-1 victory over Rangers and the Buddies are likely to be too strong for struggling Dundee.

Hibs have finally found their stride and David Gray's men downed Hearts in the Edinburgh derby earlier this week.

That made it three straight wins for the Leith outfit and Hibs have put up expected goals figures of 1.55, 1.44, 4.79, 2.31 and 2.72 in their last five matches.

A reproduction of those performances will make them extremely difficult to beat when Kilmarnock go to the capital.
