Scottish football predictions

it’s difficult to look beyond Rangers at 11-10 in terms of the best bet on tonight’s William Hill Premiership card.

The Gers head to high-flying Aberdeen six points off the top of the table and few would have predicted that the Dons would be separating Celtic and Rangers nine games into the Scottish Premiership season.

Thelin’s men have been in excellent form, winning eight of their opening nine league games, and it would certainly be unfair to dismiss the achievements of the Reds.

However, there has been plenty of good fortune mixed in with some decent performances and the prices looked to have moved too far in support of the Dons.

Thelin’s team took 84 minutes to break down Dundee United  in a narrow 1-0 victory on Saturday and five of Aberdeen’s eight top-flight victories have come by a single-goal margin.

The Gers haven’t been anywhere near their best domestically this season, but good wins over Malmo and FCSB in Europe suggest there is still a talented side housed at Ibrox.

Rangers’ ability to convert their chances has to be taken on trust, but the 11-10 available about the Gers beating Aberdeen looks far too big.

Hearts rate a strong fancy to down a depleted Kilmarnock side as the Jambos are heading in the right direction under new boss Neil Critchley.

Hearts picked up their first domestic victory of the campaign when beating St Mirren 4-0 at Tynecastle this month and that was followed by a 2-0 European success against Omonia Nicosia. The Edinburgh ouitfit had to settle for a 1-1 draw in the Edinburgh derby, but Critchley’s side played pretty well at Easter Road and Hearts have to be a better side than the league table suggests.

Kilmarnock will be without Liam Donnelly, Kyle Magennis, Stuart Findlay and Liam Polworth for their trip to the capital and Killie are likely to come up short.
