Scottish football predictions

A grim week for Inverness Caledonian Thistle is poised for a fittingly dismal end.

Just a couple of days after stricken Highland club Caley proposed crowdfunding in a bid to avoid administration, they head to Arbroath for a challenging William Hill League One encounter.

The third tier's draw masters would probably take a seventh stalemate in nine outings, but the bet is Arbroath to continue their resurgence and put the former Premiership side to bed.

Arbroath have come to life under their new management team of David Gold and Colin Hamilton, with three wins and just one loss in their six games in charge.

They have been getting players back from injury and can make it three wins in a row following their 2-0 triumph over Annan and 4-2 win away to Cove Rangers.

The Red Lichties haven't conceded a goal in their last three at Gayfield and that has to be a worry for Duncan Ferguson's Caley, who are the division's joint-lowest scorers.

Up in the William Hill Premiership, there are three Saturday fixtures with Motherwell taken to avoid defeat at Hibernian.

The Steelmen are having a good season. Their only defeats in 12 league and cup games have been a pair of 2-1 reverses at Rangers and Aberdeen and clearly there is no disgrace in that.

Over at Easter Road, rookie Hibernian boss David Gray has lost the services of star summer signing Kieron Bowie and his side aren't pulling up trees with performances or results.

This promises to be tight, playing towards a double-chance bet on the visitors and the draw.
