Scottish football predictions

Aberdeen remain the only club team in Uefa's top 50 nations to have won every game that they have played this season but the Dons face their biggest challenge yet away to Celtic in the William Hill Scottish Premiership on Saturday.

The Bhoys have also won all seven league games and have a rock-solid record against Saturday's visitors, going unbeaten in the last 25 meetings between the pair.

However, new boss Jimmy Thelin has turned Aberdeen into a formidable force, having tasted victory in all 13 games that they have played this term with an aggressive, counter-attacking style of football.

It may be premature to talk of the visitors as title contenders - the Dons are 50-1 to win the league - but their style of play could well be conducive to success at Parkhead.

Celtic are likely to be without two of their key defenders - Greg Taylor and Cameron Carter-Vickers are injury doubts - and both teams are fancied to find the net as a consequence.

Both sides have scored in four of Celtic's last five games in all competitions and a revitalised Aberdeen are fancied to go well in this top-of-the-table clash.

The departure of Bojan Miovski to Girona was a big blow to Thelin's plans but former Hibernian striker Kevin Nisbet has stepped into his shoes impressively, scoring twice in three league starts for Aberdeen since arriving on loan from Millwall.

Nisbet scored 12 goals in 16 league starts in his last stint in the Scottish top flight and looks a big price to get on the scoresheet in this game, particularly if he is on penalty duties.

Elsewhere in the division, Neil Critchley has his first game as Hearts boss against St Mirren while new St Johnstone manager Simo Valakari takes on Ross County.

Rangers visit strugglers Kilmarnock in Sunday's televised fixture.
