Scottish football predictions

Dundee would have been disappointed to lose key midfielder Luke McCowan to Celtic prior to the international break, but boss Tony Docherty has used the loan market to his advantage and the Dee look a good bet to win at Ross County.

Oluwaseun Adewumi has made a temporary transfer from Burnley, Ziyad Larkeche arrived from QPR, Billy Koumetio joined from Liverpool and Leicester's Sammy Braybrooke looks the replacement for McCowan.

Transfers aside, Dundee have beaten Hearts this season, while the Dark Blues also collected good points against Dundee Utd, Hibs and St Mirren and a clash with Ross County looks the easiest task Docherty’s side have faced.

County were beaten by Aberdeen prior to the break, a loss which followed a 6-0 William Hill Premiership hammering from Rangers and a Scottish League Cup defeat at League Two outfit Spartans.

Don Cowie appears to be a decent manager, but the 41-year-old has little quality to work with and Dundee look a bet to win in Dingwall.

Ayr, who have won all six of their Somerset Park matches and scored 17 goals on their own patch in the process, were mighty impressive when turning around a 2-0 deficit to beat Raith 3-2 in the Challenge Cup on Sunday.

Scott Brown’s side appear serious Championship title contenders and the Honest Men can win again when Partick visit Somerset Park.

Cove were stunned by two late goals in a 3-2 defeat at East Kilbride last weekend in what was an extremely disappointing Challenge Cup result.

It’s been a pretty awful start for the Toonsers, who have won only two matches this term and just seven of 30 games since the turn of the year.

Manager Paul Hartley doesn’t appear to have the ability to turn things around and today's opponents Kelty Hearts look a good bet.
