Scottish football predictions

The Scottish Challenge Cup has reached the third-round stage and Saturday's clash between the Spartans of William Hill Scottish League Two and Championship title contenders Livingston is one of the standout ties of the round.

The pair met in the League Cup earlier this season when Spartans edged aside Livi in a 1-0 victory. And the Edinburgh club are developing a reputation for giant-killings after ousting William Hill Scottish Premiership outfit Ross County in that competition last month to set up a quarter-final with Aberdeen in a fortnight.

They are the first fourth-tier club since Rangers in 2012 to reach the last eight of the League Cup and they boast a rock-solid home record, losing just one of their last ten at Ainslie Park.

Livingston's priority this season is to secure promotion back to the Premiership at the first time of asking, so it may be worth siding with Spartans in the double-chance market at odds-against.
