Livingston suffered a big blow to their William Hill Scottish Championship title ambitions when they were beaten 1-0 at home by third-placed Ayr last weekend.

David Martindale’s men, who trail leaders Falkirk by five points, had won six of their last seven games in all competitions prior to that setback, however, and are fancied to get back to winning ways on their trip to Raith.

Livi have already beaten Rovers twice this season and have the best defensive record in the division, conceding just 11 times in 18 games.

Only the bottom three have lost more games than Raith in the Scottish second tier, meanwhile, and a ninth league loss of the campaign could be forthcoming against a Livingston outfit hungry to secure an immediate return to the Premiership.

A slow start may have put paid to any automatic promotion hopes Partick Thistle harboured, but they are putting together another solid campaign, nonetheless, and are on track to secure a playoff berth.

Their resurgence has much to do with veteran striker Brian Graham hitting his stride. Only Hamilton’s Oli Shaw (8) has scored more league goals than the Jags frontman, who has netted four times in as many outings and has seven strikes for the campaign.

Thistle face Queen’s Park on Saturday and their reliable striker could lead from the front against a Spiders side who have lost four of their last five in the league.
