Brentford vs Bournemouth

There are a number of matches in the Premier League this weekend in which the odds-compilers are struggling to split the teams.

One of those is the visit of in-form Bournemouth to Brentford, following wins over Arsenal and Manchester City.

A crucial component of the Cherries’ success this term has been their hybrid pressing approach that has turned them into one of the most impressive teams off the ball in the top flight.

However, one side effect of that pressing is that they give away plenty of fouls and their total of 137 conceded is the most in the Premier League.

One of the worst offenders is Justin Kluivert, who often leads the press from the front. The Dutchman has committed 18 fouls this term and has been booked four times in ten appearances.

Referee Darren Bond has dished out 5.25 cards per game this season - above the league average - and Kluivert could be the latest to end up in his notebook.

Brighton vs Manchester City

Manchester City have lost three games in a row for the first time since 2018. Luckily for them only one of those defeats has come in the Premier League but they face another tough task as they visit Brighton in the first of the two televised matches on Saturday.

The Citizens look a different team without Rodri and their hosts have caught the eye under manager Fabian Hurzeler.

Only four teams have taken more shots than the Seagulls and one of their most trigger-happy players is Georginio Rutter.

The former Leeds man has taken at least two shots in nine of 11 appearances, and one of those outings in which he fell short was just a minute-long cameo, so it can essentially be discounted.

Even if he does not start, Rutter can still make a big impact, as shown when he took three shots in just 19 minutes off the bench against Arsenal.

His tally of 3.68 shots per 90 minutes is in the top ten of the Premier League this term and he is fancied for two or more efforts at goal in this clash.

Nottingham Forest vs Newcastle

Newcastle have made an inconsistent start to the season and a large part of that may be due to their star striker Alexander Isak taking a while to come to the boil.

The Swede netted 21 league goals last term but scored only one in his first seven games in all competitions this season.

However, since then Isak has netted three in a row, twice against Chelsea in different competitions and the only goal in the Magpies’ 1-0 win over Arsenal.

Isak has a good record in a small sample size against Sunday's opponents Nottingham Forest, scoring three times in as many appearances against the Tricky Trees, and could land himself on the scoresheet once more.
