Player props preview

Newcastle vs Aston Villa

Jhon Duran seems to have usurped Ollie Watkins as Aston Villa’s number one striker after starting their last three Premier League games.

The Colombian has scored in his last four outings in all competitions and has seven Premier League goals in just 571 minutes of action this term.

Duran’s unpredictability and ball-striking make him one of the most dangerous forwards in the league and he could cause plenty of issues for a Newcastle side still missing their first-choice central defender and goalkeeper.

Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham

Rodrigo Bentancur returns from a seven-game domestic suspension for Tottenham and is likely to slot straight back into their midfield as they visit Nottingham Forest.

The Uruguayan has been booked six times in 12 starts in all competitions this term and averaged 0.63 cards per 90 minutes in the Premier League last term.

The referee for this clash is Craig Pawson, who was one of the most card-happy in the league in 2023-24, averaging 4.42 yellows per game.

If Bentancur has any ring rust from his absence, Pawson could be dishing out another.

Liverpool vs Leicester

If Liverpool and Leicester repeat their performance levels from recent weeks then it is a case of how many the Reds will win by when they meet at Anfield.

Goalkeeper Mads Hermansen has been one of the Foxes’ only standouts but the Dane is injured and they have conceded seven goals in the 125 minutes since he was sidelined.

Liverpool have scored at least twice in 12 of their last 13 games and Trent Alexander-Arnold is becoming increasingly influential, registering three assists in his last three league games.

Side with the right-back to either score or assist against these strugglers.
