Leicester vs Chelsea
Cole Palmer has understandably taken many of the plaudits for Chelsea’s strong start to the season but the efforts of Nicolas Jackson may have gone under the radar.
Only Erling Haaland and Mo Salah have higher expected goals tallies than Jackson’s 6.2, and despite his reputation as a wasteful finisher, he has converted that into six goals.
Against a Leicester team that lacks pace in their likely central defenders Wout Faes and Jannik Vestergaard, the Blues striker could take full advantage.
Bournemouth vs Brighton
Bournemouth and Brighton have been among the most exciting teams to watch in the Premier League this season, with both getting the better of Manchester City in recent weeks.
Their approach off the ball, particularly Bournemouth’s, means that they concede plenty of fouls (Bournemouth's tally of 153 leads the league) and pick up plenty of cards.
Six of the Cherries’ last eight games have seen five or more cards dished out and referee Stuart Attwell gave out six the last time he took charge of a Seagulls match.
Manchester City vs Tottenham
Tottenham’s Brennan Johnson has had a solid campaign despite receiving criticism at the start of the season, recording seven goals and an assist in all competitions.
The Welshman’s typical goal is a close-range finish from a cut-back, as demonstrated by the fact that six of his last nine Premier League goals have come from inside six yards.
Manchester City have been particularly susceptible to such goals, with teams often getting in behind their full-backs to square for a waiting teammate.
Timo Werner opened the scoring in Spurs’ 2-1 EFL Cup win from a similar situation and considering this weakness plays to Johnson’s strengths, he is worth siding with to either score or assist in this clash.
