Saturday's Premier League 3pm predictions

Brentford vs Leicester predictions

A 2-1 defeat to Chelsea marked the end of the brief and unsuccessful Steve Cooper era at Leicester, with Ruud van Nistelrooy set to replace the Welshman.

However, while the Dutchman's arrival should boost the mood at the King Power, he will not be in the dugout in west London and therefore no immediate change in fortune is expected, which is bad news ahead of a trip to the Gtech Community Stadium, where Brentford have been near-flawless this term.

The Bees have won five and drawn one of their six league home matches, landing an impressive 3-2 victory over Bournemouth in the latest of those games, with Thomas Frank's men fancied to take the spoils in another thriller against the Foxes.

The Gtech has been the place to be for goals this season and that trend is unlikely to be bucked against Leicester. Brentford's six Premier League home games have seen the ball hit the net a mammoth 29 times, with their last three alone producing 20 goals.

Entertainment is on the agenda and, with Leicester winless in five, so is a home victory.

Brentford vs Leicester team news

Brentford: Josh Dasilva, Rico Henry, Kristoffer Ajer, Gustavo Nunes and Aaron Hickey remain out with injuries. Christian Norgaard had last week’s red card overturned and is available.
Leicester: Abdul Fatawu, Ricardo Pereira and Jakub Stolarczyk are out and the game has also come too soon for Harry Winks. Facundo Buonanotte is back from suspension.

Brentford vs Leicester predicted line-ups

Brentford (4-3-3): Flekken; Van den Berg, Collins, Pinnock, Lewis-Potter; Jensen, Norgaard, Janelt; Mbeumo, Wissa, Damsgaard.
Leicester (4-3-3): Hermansen; Justin, Faes, Vestergaard, Kristiansen; Soumare, Skipp, Ndidi; Buonanotte, Vardy, Mavididi.

Brentford vs Leicester key stat

There have been 29 goals in Brentford's six Premier League home games.

Brentford to win and over 2.5 goals

Crystal Palace vs Newcastle predictions

Eddie Howe will expect an immediate reaction from his players following Newcastle's shock 2-0 home loss to West Ham on Monday but he may be found wanting in that hope at Crystal Palace.

The Eagles will have taken plenty of notes from their London rivals' masterclass in counter-attacking play at St James' Park and Oliver Glasner will look to employ a similar framework as his side go in search of some crucial points in their battle against the drop.

Palace have averaged 0.9 per cent less possession per game than West Ham's 45.5 this term, so a counter-attacking approach could be right up their street, especially with the pace of Ismaila Sarr up front.

Given the Eagles have just one league victory this season, they are probably worth avoiding from a win perspective, with the draw a likelier result.

Eberechi Eze's return would supplement some much-needed creativity into the side, though, and they could add to a poor week for the Magpies by holding out for a draw – a bet which has landed in four of the last seven head-to-heads at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace vs Newcastle team news

Crystal Palace: Daichi Kamada is suspended and Chadi Riad, Adam Wharton, Matheus Franca and Rob Holding are injured but Eberechi Eze and Eddie Nketiah have trained this week and are both available.
Newcastle: Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles and Emil Krafth are out while Bruno Guimaraes and Joe Willock face late fitness tests. Dan Burn is available after suspension.

Crystal Palace vs Newcastle predicted line-ups

Crystal Palace (3-4-2-1): Henderson; Chalobah, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Doucoure, Lerma, Mitchell; Sarr, Eze; Mateta
Newcastle (4-3-3): Pope; Livramento, Schar, Burn, Hall; Tonali, Longstaff, Joelinton; Gordon, Isak, Barnes

Crystal Palace vs Newcastle key stat

Four of the last seven meetings between Crystal Palace and Newcastle at Selhurst Park have finished level.

Nottingham Forest vs Ipswich predictions

Ipswich showed new Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim that there are no easy games in the Premier League with their 1-1 draw against the Red Devils on Sunday and Town could also make life tough for Nottingham Forest.

The Tractor Boys remain in the relegation zone with just one victory to their name but they were unlucky not to double that win tally against United.

Omari Hutchinson scored a terrific equaliser against Amorim's side before Andre Onana twice denied Liam Delap with excellent saves to keep the score level.

That bold performance followed a 2-1 win away at Tottenham and Kieran McKenna's men are starting to show promise in the top flight.

As for Nottingham Forest, they head into this game off the back of successive defeats for the first time this season.

They were beaten 3-1 by Newcastle at the City Ground before the international break and were carved apart 3-0 by Arsenal at the Emirates last Saturday.

The defensive solidity they showed earlier in the season has vanished and Ipswich are worth backing to avoid defeat at the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest vs Ipswich team news

Nottingham Forest: Morgan Gibbs-White, Danilo and Elliot Anderson will be assessed for the Tricky Trees, while Anthony Elanga is a major doubt.
Ipswich: Jacob Greaves and Nathan Broadhead will be assessed but Kalvin Phillips, Ben Johnson, Chiedozie Ogbene and George Hirst remain sidelined.

Nottingham Forest vs Ipswich predicted line-ups

Nottingham Forest (4-2-3-1): Sels; Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo, Moreno; Yates, Dominguez; Hudson-Odoi, Ward-Prowse, Silva; Wood.
Ipswich (4-2-3-1): Muric; Tuanzebe, O'Shea, Burgess, Davis; Cajuste, Morsy; Burns, Hutchinson, Szmodics; Delap.

Nottingham Forest vs Ipswich key stat

Ipswich have lost only three of their last ten Premier League matches.

Ipswich or draw double chance

Wolves vs Bournemouth predictions

Back-to-back wins over Southampton and Fulham have moved Wolves out of the Premier League relegation zone and they will be in high spirits ahead of Saturday's clash against Bournemouth.

Gary O'Neil's men beat Fulham 4-1 last Saturday, although punters should take that scoreline with a pinch of salt.

The Cottagers were down to ten men when they conceded the last two goals, having used all of their substitutes when Joachim Andersen went off injured, and it was not a dominant performance throughout.

Wolves will nonetheless fancy their chances against a Bournemouth team who have picked up just five points on the road and will be missing key forward Antoine Semenyo.

But a better betting approach than a Wolves win is Matheus Cunha to score.

Wolves have blown hot and cold this season and do not always get the results their performances merit but goals are a consistent part of their game - they have scored just one fewer Premier League goal than Arsenal after 12 games.

Cunha has bagged seven league goals this season, including three in his last two appearances, and the skilful Brazilian is worth backing to find the net at Molineux.

Wolves vs Bournemouth team news

Wolves: Gary O'Neil has confirmed that Santiago Bueno, Pablo Sarabia, Craig Dawson and Sam Johnstone are all available. Yerson Mosquera, Enso Gonzalez, Sasa Kalajdzic and Boubacar Traore are long-term absentees.
Bournemouth: Antoine Semenyo is suspended after picking up five yellow cards but Ryan Christie is back from his ban. Alex Scott, Luis Sinisterra and Julian Araujo are all out.

Wolves vs Bournemouth predicted line-ups

Wolves (3-4-2-1): Sa; Lemina, Dawson, Toti; Semedo, Andre, J Gomes, Ait-Nouri; Bellegarde, Cunha; Larsen.
Bournemouth (4-2-3-1): Kepa; Smith, Zabarnyi, Senesi, Kerkez; Adams, Cook; Kluivert, Christie, Tavernier; Evanilson.

Wolves vs Bournemouth key stat

Bournemouth have kept just one clean sheet in 12 Premier League games this season.

Best bet for Wolves vs Bournemouth:

Matheus Cunha to score at any time
