Sunday's Premier League 3pm predictions

Crystal Palace vs Southampton predictions

Southampton began the Ivan Juric era with a 1-0 home defeat to West Ham but even if the Saints' efforts were in vain on Thursday, there were some promising signs for the new boss to take away.

Moving away from Russell Martin’s high-risk, possession-focused approach to Juric's self-styled 'death metal' football was expected to be a difficult task, yet the Saints dominated against West Ham and were unlucky not to come away with at least a draw.

Southampton had 18 shots to 16 and five efforts on target compared to the Hammers' two, and a repeat performance could see them earn a point from their visit to Crystal Palace, who lost 2-0 to West Ham earlier in the season.

Four of Palace's last seven Premier League games have finished all-square and the Eagles have failed to win any of their last four home matches, losing 5-1 to Arsenal in their most recent outing at Selhurst Park.

Marc Guehi's absence will be greatly felt against a rejuvenated Paul Onuachu and the exciting Tyler Dibling, and the Saints can claim their first point under Juric in the capital.

Crystal Palace vs Southampton team news

Crystal Palace: Adam Wharton, Matheus Franca, Chadi Riad and Rob Holding are injured and captain Marc Guehi is suspended. Will Hughes will be assessed.
Southampton: Jack Stephens, Will Smallbone, Gavin Bazunu and Ross Stewart are out until the new year. Tyler Dibling should return to the starting 11 after starting on the bench against West Ham.

Crystal Palace vs Southampton predicted line-ups

Crystal Palace (3-4-2-1): Henderson; Chalobah, Lacroix, Richards; Munoz, Doucoure, Lerma, Mitchell; Sarr, Eze; Mateta
Southampton (3-4-2-1): Ramsdale; Harwood-Bellis, Bednarek, Wood; Sugawara, Downes, Ugochukwu, Walker-Peters; Dibling, Fernandes; Onuachu

Crystal Palace vs Southampton key stat

Four of Crystal Palace’s last seven Premier League games have finished as draws.

Everton vs Nottingham Forest predictions

Since winning the European Cup for a second time in 1980, Nottingham Forest have dined at Europe's top table only once, last doing so in the season immediately after beating Hamburg in the final.

However, their dreams of mixing it with the cream of Europe once again are looking more realistic with every passing week.

The Tricky Trees are fourth heading into their final fixture of 2024 after beating Tottenham 1-0, their fourth Premier League win in a row.

Forest's run of success also includes wins over Aston Villa and Manchester United and manager Nuno Espirito Santo has seemingly struck the perfect balance with his side.

Blending powerful defenders with tricky attackers has proved an excellent formula for success and last weekend's win at Brentford, a side previously unbeaten at home, showed they don't always require the backing of a raucous City Ground crowd to inspire them to victory.

That should hold them in good stead for a trip to Goodison Park, where Forest are worth backing to land a fifth straight win.

Everton have drawn their last three matches with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City, however, so it could pay to take the stalemate out of the equation and back the visitors in the draw-no-bet market.

Everton vs Nottingham Forest team news

Everton: Tim Iroegbunam and James Garner remain sidelined and Seamus Coleman, Iliman Ndiaye and Dwight McNeil will be assessed. Ashley Young is available after suspension.
Nottingham Forest: Danilo and Ibrahim Sangare are still injured and Ryan Yates is suspended. Nicolas Dominguez, back from his own ban, is set to replace Yates in midfield.

Everton vs Nottingham Forest predicted line-ups

Everton (4-5-1): Pickford; Young, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Harrison, Mangala, Gueye, Doucoure, Ndiaye; Calvert-Lewin
Nottingham Forest (4-2-3-1): Sels; Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo, Williams; Dominguez, Anderson; Elanga, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Wood

Everton vs Nottingham Forest key stat

Nottingham Forest have lost just two of their nine away matches this term.

Fulham vs Bournemouth predictions

Both Fulham, who sit eighth, and sixth-placed Bournemouth are punching above their weight in the Premier League and both teams claimed eyecatching results in recent weeks.

The Cottagers have drawn with Arsenal and Liverpool, and claimed a 2-1 win at neighbours Chelsea on Boxing Day, but a home goalless draw against bottom-of-the-table Southampton and a recent 4-1 loss to struggling Wolves shows they are still prone to their off days.

That draw with the Saints was the first clean sheet Marco Silva's side had posted in 13 games at Craven Cottage, which should give the Cherries hope of a profitable trip to the banks of the Thames.

Andoni Iraola's outfit are unbeaten in six and have won their last three on the road at Wolves, Ipswich and, perhaps most impressively, Manchester United, where they posted a 3-0 success a week ago.

The nine goals they scored in those victories showed they are unlikely to sit back on their last trip of 2024, and given that Fulham frequently have conceded on their own patch, it is worth taking a chance that the visitors can find the net more than once on the visit to the capital.

Fulham vs Bournemouth team news

Fulham: Emile Smith Rowe faces a late fitness test but the game is likely to come too early for midfielder Sander Berge. Harrison Reed, Kenny Tete and Reiss Nelson are still out.
Bournemouth: Justin Kluivert serves a one-match ban while Marcos Senesi, Adam Smith, Julian Araujo, Marcus Tavernier, Luis Sinisterra and Alex Scott are all injured.

Fulham vs Bournemouth predicted line-ups

Fulham (4-5-1): Leno; Castagne, Diop, Andersen, Bassey; Traore, Pereira, Lukic, Iwobi, Robinson; Jimenez
Bournemouth (4-2-3-1): Arrizabalaga; Aarons, Zabarnyi, Huijsen, Kerkez; Christie, Cook; Semenyo, Billing, Ouattara; Evanilson

Fulham vs Bournemouth key stat

Bournemouth have scored 11 goals in their last four away games

Best bet for Fulham vs Bournemouth:

Tottenham vs Wolves predictions

Thursday's trip to Nottingham Forest could not have gone much worse for Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou, who saw his team lose 1-0 and Radu Dragusin and Djed Spence become the latest addition to Spurs' defensive injury list.

The defeat at the City Ground came only a few days after Spurs had shipped six goals against Premier League leaders Liverpool on home soil and it is difficult to confidently predict they will bounce back against Wolves, who have turned a corner under new manager Vitor Pereira will head to London fancying their chances.

The Portuguese boss has helped the top flight's leakiest defence keep successive clean sheets in wins over Leicester and Manchester United, and a team who have scored in seven of their eight away matches despite being in the bottom four should be confident they can threaten Spurs' makeshift backline.

Matheus Cunha is set to be a big threat having taken his league season tally to ten goals with the opener in the 2-0 win over United and there is a strong chance he can score in a fourth successive outing.

Tottenham vs Wolves team news

Tottenham: Radu Dragusin is doubtful while fellow defenders Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Ben Davies are out and Djed Spence is suspended. Guglielmo Vicario, Mikey Moore, Richarlison and Wilson Odobert are also unavailable.
Wolves: Rayan Ait-Nouri is available after suspension. Mario Lemina is hoping to shake off a calf problem but Pablo Sarabia, Sasa Kalajdzic, Boubacar Traore, Enso Gonzalez and Yerson Mosquera are all injured.

Tottenham vs Wolves predicted line-ups

Tottenham (4-2-3-1): Forster; Porro, Bissouma, Gray, Udogie; Sarr, Bentancur; Kulusevski, Maddison, Son; Solanke.
Wolves (3-4-3): Sa; Doherty, Bueno, Toti; Semedo, Andre, J Gomes, Ait-Nouri; Guedes, Larsen, Cunha

Tottenham vs Wolves key stat

Tottenham have kept one clean sheet in their last 24 home league games

Best bet for Tottenham vs Wolves:

Wolves
1pt 17-5 Coral
