Aston Villa vs Brighton predictions
Neither Aston Villa nor Brighton have kicked on from encouraging starts and they meet at Villa Park aiming to emerge from mid-season slumps.
The added emotional effects of a Champions League campaign has left Villa looking fatigued and they have lost two of their last three league matches, going down 3-0 at Newcastle in their most recent outing on Boxing Day.
However, they are unbeaten in five at Villa Park, defeating Manchester City 2-1 before Christmas, and will look to further frustrate a Brighton side who are without a win in six.
Albion won the shot count 24-8 in Friday's goalless draw against Brentford but steered only seven of their efforts on target, the continuation of worrying trend in front of goal for the Seagulls, who have scored more than once in just one of their last six league outings.
Fabian Hurzeler is adamant his team are not getting their fair share of luck but they are also failing to take their chances.
A visit to a tired Villa outfit who have conceded in their last four will give them hope but a day fewer to prepare hardly helps their cause and the pair could cancel each other out.

Ipswich vs Chelsea predictions
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca said his side's visit to Ipswich was "a matter of how we react" in his pre-match press duties following their 2-1 Boxing Day defeat to Fulham.
The Blues' first league loss since October came as a shock but having drawn 0-0 at Everton in their previous game, it was another reminder that Maresca's young squad are far from the finished article.
However, taking on a team yet to win at home in the Premier League following last season's promotion is not a bad way for the Stamford Bridge club to try and end another tumultuous year on a high.
The Tractor Boys' impetus was always in danger of stalling after romping through first League One and then the Championship.
They have generally managed to stay in games but were outclassed 4-0 by Newcastle before Christmas and were typically industrious but ultimately unsuccessful in Friday's 1-0 defeat at Arsenal.
Newcastle became the first away team to score more than twice at Portman Road this season nine days ago but Cole Palmer and company won't need many second invitations to follow suit.
Ipswich vs Chelsea team news
Ipswich: Captain Sam Morsy returns following suspension and is likely to replace Kalvin Phillips in midfield. Massimo Luongo is ill and George Hirst, Chiedozie Ogbene and Axel Tuanzebe are injured.
Chelsea: Enzo Maresca has hinted he will make changes. Noni Madueke and Renato Veiga missed out against Fulham but could return, although Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is a doubt and Romeo Lavia has a hamstring injury.
Ipswich vs Chelsea predicted line-ups
Ipswich (4-2-3-1): Muric; Johnson, O'Shea, Burgess, Davis; Morsy, Cajuste; Hutchinson, Chaplin, Szmodics; Delap.
Chelsea (4-2-3-1): Sanchez; Gusto, Adarabioyo, Colwill, Cucurella; Fernandez, Caicedo; Sancho, Palmer, Felix; Nkunku.
