Manchester City are back on top of the Premier League and favourites for the title following a pulsating 2-2 draw with rivals Arsenal at the Etihad on Sunday.

City needed a goal in the 98th minute to claim a point against the Gunners, who played the whole of the second half with ten men.

City were 4-5 favourites for victory on home soil and they went ahead Erling Haaland after just nine minutes, but Arsenal levelled through Riccardo Calafiori's stunning strike after 22 minutes.

The Gunners took the lead on the stroke of half-time with a bullet header from a corner by centre-back Gabriel but midfielder Leandro Trossard was then sent off after picking up a second yellow card.

Down to ten men, Arsenal did their best to defend their lead with a backs-to-the-wall display in the second half, but their resistance was finally broken in the 98th minute as John Stones forced the ball home amid a hectic goalmouth scramble to nick a point for the Citizens. The draw had been a 13-5 shot prior to kick-off.

City remain title favourites and are odds-on with most firms although BoyleSports were still offering a standout 6-5 on Sunday evening. Arsenal are 2-1 to finish top of the pile after having victory snatched away at the death, while Liverpool, who had started the day in first place, are 13-2 and it's 28-1 the field.

Earlier Brighton drew 2-2 with Nottingham Forest in a contest which saw both managers - Fabian Hurzeler of Brighton and Nuno Espirito Santo of Forest - sent off following their reactions to a red card for visiting forward Morgan Gibbs-White.
