Manchester City vs Nottingham Forest predictions

Pep Guardiola attempted to strike a defiant tone after Manchester City were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool on Sunday, but the truth is that this is the worst run the Citizens have endured under the Spaniard.

They have lost six of their last seven games in all competitions, surrendering a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 in the other, and are already 11 points off the pace in the Premier League title race.

Guardiola's men host a Nottingham Forest team who have been one of the biggest surprise packages in the top flight this term - they currently sit just a point behind the home side in sixth.

The Tricky Trees have been particularly effective on the counter this season. They have the second-lowest possession percentage in the division but only Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham have had more shots following a fast break than Forest's 15.

City have looked particularly susceptible to such attacks and both teams are fancied to get on the scoresheet in this game.

Forest have scored in 12 of their 14 fixtures in all competitions, while City have conceded at least two goals in their last seven outings.
