Match preview

Everton have what it takes to rain on Manchester City’s title parade as they go in search of a 12th away win of the season and a potential place in Europe next season.

The Toffees enter the final day level on points with seventh-placed Tottenham but with an inferior goal difference, meaning they'll need to better Spurs' result at Leicester to snatch the Europa Conference League spot.

Everton's 1-0 win over Wolves on Wednesday has given Carlo Ancelotti's men a shot at ending a three-year run without continental competition and their form on the road suggests they have more than a puncher's chance at the home of the champions.

Only City have won more games away from home in the Premier League this season than the Merseysiders, who have kept six clean sheets in their last seven on their travels.

Everton have already won at Liverpool, Leicester, Spurs and Arsenal this season and may be catching City at a good time with Pep Guardiola and his troops likely to have more than one eye on next weekend's Champions League final.

The Citizens have lost two of their three games since securing passage to the European showpiece, letting a two-goal lead slip in the 3-2 defeat to Brighton in midweek. The Premier League’s tightest defence has also been breached at least twice in each of those three matches.

With the added distraction of Sergio Aguero’s farewell and the champagne waiting to be uncorked by City's squad at full-time, Everton can reprise the role of uninvited guests at the Etihad party.

Key stat

No Premier League side have kept more clean sheets away from home than Everton's nine this season.
