Team news
Liverpool
Roberto Firmino is sidelined and Diogo Jota (ankle) is unlikely to be risked. Full-backs Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson should return to the starting 11.
Leeds
Robin Koch (concussion) is expected to join Patrick Bamford, Liam Cooper and Kalvin Phillips on the sidelines. Raphinha, who scored as a substitute against Manchester United on Sunday, should start.
Match preview
Leeds's 4-2 home defeat to Manchester United on Sunday means they have now lost seven of their eight games against the Premier League's top six, conceding 30 goals in those fixtures.
That record does not bode well for their trip to Liverpool, whose title bid was boosted by Manchester City's shock defeat to Tottenham.
The Reds beat Norwich 3-1 at the weekend, with new signing Luis Diaz scoring his first goal, and another entertaining win looks likely at Anfield, where Leeds lost 4-3 on the opening day of last season.
The visitors pose a goal threat through Rodrigo, who scored against United and was twice denied by the crossbar in Leeds's 3-0 loss at Everton, and reported Liverpool target Raphinha.
However, their defence could be out of their depth once again when they face a Reds side who have won 13 of their 15 league matches against teams in the bottom half.
