Leicester vs Chelsea predictions

Enzo Maresca spoke about his excitement ahead of his return to Leicester, the club he led to the Championship title last term, and given his new sideChelsea have made such a strong start to the season, it is easy to see why.

The Blues sit third in the Premier League, ahead of rivals Arsenal, and a win at the King Power will see them leapfrog Manchester City into second behind Liverpool.

That desired result seems likely too as their hosts are winless in four matches and struggling at the wrong end of the table.

In that miserable run Leicester have been thrashed twice by inconsistent Manchester United and comprehensively beaten by local rivals Nottingham Forest at the King Power, while their sole draw in the sequence came at fellow promoted side Ipswich, where the Foxes' equaliser came only after the Tractor Boys were reduced to ten men.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have impressed on their travels this term, scoring ten goals to beat Wolves, Bournemouth and West Ham in their opening three away games of the league, suggesting the points are likely to be heading back to the capital.

The Blues played well in their only Premier League away defeat of the campaign – a 2-1 loss at leaders Liverpool – and it is fair to say Leicester are closer in terms of talent to Wolves and West Ham - the teams Chelsea have thrashed on their travels - than they are to the top-of-the-table Reds.

That suggests Maresca's men could run riot at the King Power and over 2.5 goals is likely to land for the tenth time in 12 Chelsea away games in the top flight.

The Blues are the Premier League's top away scorers this season with 12 goals on their travels, and they can be expected to cut loose against a Leicester side who have conceded 18 times in their last seven games.

The Foxes have scored in all five of their league home games, which could make both teams to score seem another enticing bet.

However, their two creative fulcrums Abdul Fatawu and Facundo Buonanotte are absent through injury and suspension, meaning they may lack imagination against a solid Blues outfit, making over 2.5 goals the safer addition to an away win.

Key stat

Chelsea are the Premier League's top away scorers with 12 goals on their travels this season.

Leicester vs Chelsea team news

Leicester
Abdul Fatawu has been ruled out for the season with an ACL injury and joins Ricardo Pereira on the sidelines. Patson Daka is back but Facundo Buonanotte is suspended while attacking trio Jamie Vardy, Jordan Ayew and Bobby De Cordova-Reid will be assessed before kick-off.

Chelsea
Reece James has picked up another injury but the Chelsea captain is the visitors' only confirmed absentee. Malo Gusto is fit again and can fill in at right-back, while Cole Palmer and Levi Colwill should feature despite withdrawing from England's squad for their recent Nations League games.

Leicester vs Chelsea bet builder predictions

Chelsea to win
The Blues have won three of their five Premier League away games, only being held by Manchester United and beaten by Liverpool, and should have too much for Leicester, who are without a win in four.

Pedro Neto to score or assist
The Chelsea winger has scored in his last two appearances for club or country and could have a big impact against the struggling Foxes.

Stephy Mavididi to be booked
Malo Gusto is an excellent attacking right-back and Stephy Mavididi, who has been booked in his last two league games, could have trouble tracking back against the speedy defender.
