Crystal Palace vs Everton predictions

Everton battled to the very end of Wednesday's Merseyside derby clash and were rewarded with a point as James Tarkowski's 98th-minute strike earned them a 2-2 draw against Liverpool.

The result came at a cost, however. Influential midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure was one of two players sent off at Goodison as tempers flared after Tarkowski's leveller while forward Iliman Ndiaye was taken off with an injury in the first half.

Both will miss Saturday's visit to Crystal Palace, where the Toffees may not be at their sharpest just three days later.

Things have undoubtedly been looking up for Everton since the return of David Moyes, with the Toffees taking ten points from their last four Premier League assignments.

But their list of absentees continues to grow and Moyes's ability to maintain their resurgence may be impacted by a sheer lack of numbers – Dwight McNeil, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Orel Mangala are some of the other Toffees player set to miss the trip to Selhurst Park.

And while Everton are on the up, so too are Crystal Palace, who booked their spot in the fifth round of the FA Cup with victory over Doncaster on Monday.

That was a sixth win in eight matches for Oliver Glasner's men, who have recorded road wins at Leicester, West Ham and Manchester United since the start of 2025.

Wins have been harder to come by at home, though, with only Southampton leaving Selhurst Park empty handed in the Premier League since the start of November.

It is therefore difficult to pick a winner and there is a real chance that the pair could play out a low-scoring draw.

No top-flight team's matches are averaging fewer goals than this pair, with Palace's averaging 2.42 goals per game and Everton's 2.29. And the likelihood of a cagey contest is increased by the potential attacking absences on both sides.

With that in mind, punters should look to split stakes between 0-0 and 1-1 draws, with no goalscorer the preferred option for the former given that the bet will still land if either team wins 1-0 courtesy of an own goal.

Everton have been masters of the bore draw this season with five of their league games settled by that scoreline between the start of October and end of 2024.
