Match preview

A Pennines derby kicks off Saturday's Premier League action and it could turn out to be a duel between two of the division's most underrated strikers.

Burnley's Chris Wood has netted eight times in his last eight matches to take his top-flight tally for the season to 12, three shy of Leeds's Patrick Bamford.

Bamford's penalty settled January's reverse fixture, a 1-0 win for the Whites, that featured plenty of controversy at both ends.

With both clubs safe from relegation but way off the European places, this could be a more attacking affair and that will undoubtedly suit Leeds.

Marcelo Bielsa's men have recorded a decent eight wins from their 17 away games this season and cross the county line boosted by last Saturday's 3-1 victory over Tottenham.

Burnley were equally impressive in winning 2-0 at Fulham on Monday but have been uncharacteristically sluggish at Turf Moor this term. Sean Dyche's side have won only four times on their own patch, the last of those coming in January, and were totally outplayed by West Ham in their most recent home outing.

However, Wood's record will give them confidence and he has the extra motivation of having joined the Clarets from today's opponents in 2017.

That said, Leeds's strong away form provides scope for optimism and they are likely to have Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips back in their starting 11 after they returned as substitutes against Spurs.

With Burnley far from reliable at home, it could be road win number nine for Bamford and co.

Key stat

Burnley have not won in eight home games.
