Brighton vs Tottenham predictions
An absurd opening 45 minutes at Stamford Bridge last weekend saw Brighton concede four times to a Cole Palmer-inspired Chelsea, and they could be in line for their first back-to-back defeats of the season when in-form Tottenham travel to the south coast.
Brennan Johnson came off the bench to score for the fifth successive game and seal all three points in Spurs' trip to Ferencvaros in the Europa League on Thursday, extending their winning streak to five matches and continuing a fine start to the season for Ange Postecoglou's side.
The Australian's brand of football has always been neutral-friendly, but it is yielding the results Spurs need at the moment, and his fast-paced set-up could work wonders against a Brighton side who were torn apart on the break last weekend.
Fabian Hurzeler has set up his Seagulls with the second-highest defensive line in the Premier League, behind only Manchester City, and his refusal to change against Chelsea's pacy attackers was the root of many of their problems at Stamford Bridge.
Now they face another side who will relish the opportunity to get behind their defensive line, and Albion will once again be without the injured Jan Paul van Hecke at the back.
Tottenham have scored five goals from counter-attacking situations this season, two more than second-best Chelsea and, even without the injured Heung-Min Son, they were ruthless at Old Trafford last Sunday as they took advantage of a dreadful Red Devils side in a 3-0 victory.
Son is expected to miss out again at the Amex Stadium, but they have shown they can cope without their South Korean talisman over the past week.
Their performance against Manchester United took them top of the expected goals table with 13.4 and they have scored 12 goals from those opportunities. Spurs have notched 13 times in their last five matches, so they will carry plenty of confidence into this game.
Brighton are in the bottom half of the table for expected goals conceded and have shipped eight goals in their last three games.
They have lost three of their last four meetings with Tottenham and could find themselves taken apart again by Postecoglou's chaotic attacking football.
Key stat
Tottenham have generated a Premier League-high 13.4 expected goals this season.
Brighton vs Tottenham team news
Brighton
Long-term absentee Solly March is still ruled out for Brighton, with summer arrival Matt O'Riley, James Milner and Jan Paul van Hecke also on the sidelines. Joao Pedro is one of four players waiting on a late fitness test, with Brajan Gruda, Joel Veltman and Simon Adingra also injury doubts.
Tottenham
Richarlison and Wilson Odobert are the only confirmed absentees for Tottenham, but this match may come too soon for Heung-Min Son. Destiny Udogie could return after being injured at Old Trafford.

Brighton vs Tottenham bet builder predictions
Brennan Johnson to score at any time
Brennan Johnson had a difficult first season at Tottenham but he comes into this game having scored in his last five competitive games, while one of his five Premier League goals last season was a 96th-minute winner against Brighton.
Danny Welbeck to have 1+ shot on target
Danny Welbeck started the season by scoring twice in his opening two games and, while his goalscoring exploits have slowed, the former England international is still seeing plenty of action. He has registered 18 shots in all competitions this season and has tested the goalkeeper at least once in six of his seven competitive appearances.
Joel Veltman to be fouled 2+ times
Only three players have been fouled more than Joel Veltman in the Premier League this season, with the 32-year-old drawing 15 fouls in total and two or more in four of his five appearances.
