2024-25 Premier League top goalscorer predictions

Liverpool are dreaming of a clean sweep of trophies in 2025 and, according to bookmakers, Reds star Mohamed Salah is on course for an individual treble.

Salah is 8-11 to win the Premier League Golden Boot after establishing a three-goal lead over ante-post favourite Erling Haaland with Cole Palmer and Alexander Isak two goals further back.

And the Liverpool forward, 4-9 to be named PFA Player of the Year, is just 1-14 to claim the most assists, having set up 13 goals in his first 18 league appearances.

Bukayo Saka, with ten assists, is Salah's closest challenger but the Arsenal winger will be sidelined for a couple of months after a hamstring surgery and Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson is a distant third on the creative chart with seven assists.

Salah has been sensational for the Premier League and Champions League leaders but he could be worth opposing in the Golden Boot betting.

The 32-year-old's xG stats suggest he has been slightly flattered by a tally of 17 league goals and Haaland is capable of overhauling him.

Before Manchester City's extraordinary slump, the striker burst out of the traps with ten goals in his first five games including back-to-back hat-tricks against Ipswich and West Ham.

Since then Haaland has scored only four times from 53 shots, missing a penalty against Everton on Boxing Day. However, the Norwegian cannot be written off after amassing 63 goals in 62 starts in his first two Premier League campaigns and he remains in striking distance in the Golden Boot race.

2024-25 Premier League bottom-half finish predictions

City's rivals Manchester United are also enduring a miserable campaign and they head to Anfield this weekend on a run of five defeats in six league fixtures.

The division's impressive strength in depth is reflected by United's last three results - a 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth, a 2-0 reverse at lowly Wolves and a 2-0 loss to Newcastle at Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim's men are 14th in the table and there is still some juice in the odds about them finishing in the bottom half.

United are seven points behind Fulham and Aston Villa, who lie eighth and ninth, while tenth-placed Brighton should kick on after an injury-disrupted start to Fabian Hurzeler's reign.

Tottenham, in 11th, have their own problems but have beaten United twice this season and have the attacking firepower to smash their way out of trouble despite their obvious defensive deficiencies.

While Spurs have scored 41 goals in 19 games, United have struck just 21 times and Amorim's side are no certainties even to finish above fellow bottom-half clubs such as Brentford, West Ham and improving Crystal Palace.
