Expect things to be tight when Northern Ireland welcome Hungary to Windsor Park.

The Magyars were pretty awful in a 1-0 home defeat to Serbia on Friday night when they carved out very few chances.

Northern Ireland were hardly eye-catching themselves in winning 3-1 in Luxembourg, a game which could easily have gone either way.

But it was another positive result following on from the goalless draw against Italy with which they signed off 2021, although Hungary, newly promoted to the top tier of the Nations League, are a cut above Luxembourg.

Hungary's two international friendlies last year produced the grand total of one goal while six of Northern Ireland's ten matches in 2021 produced fewer than two goals, which gives a reasonable pointer to a bet on a match with little riding on it.
