Wales vs Montenegro predictions

Friday's 2-2 Nations League draw in Iceland was a game of two halves for Wales, who were 2-0 up inside half an hour in Reykjavik before conceding twice in the final quarter of the match.

The Welsh defence looked shaky in the second half even before Iceland scored in the 69th and 72nd minutes to nick a point and manager Craig Bellamy will want a more ruthless display from his side against Montenegro.

Bellamy claimed his first win against the Montenegrins last month, when Wales held out for a 2-1 victory in torrential rain in Niksic.

The Dragons made a blistering start to that game as goals from Kieffer Moore and Harry Wilson gave them a 2-0 lead in the first three minutes.

Fulham winger Wilson continued his fine form for the national team on Friday. He scored the second goal, having also been involved in the 11th-minute opener when his shot was saved, allowing Brennan Johnson to tuck away the rebound.

Tottenham's Johnson will not get the chance to extend his hot streak in front of goal as he is suspended against Montenegro on Monday but Wales are worth backing to make another strong start.

They played positively in Bellamy's first game in charge, a 0-0 draw with Euro 2024 quarter-finalists Turkey, and the visitors have lost eight of their last 14 away matches to nil.

That run includes a 2-0 loss to Iceland and Friday's 1-0 defeat in Turkey, where Montenegro allowed 29 shots at their goal, so the Wales-Wales double result is an appealing bet.
