Scotland vs Poland predictions

Scotland's Euro 2024 campaign ended with a hugely disappointing 1-0 defeat to Hungary in which they failed to register a shot on target.

The Tartan Army will demand a more positive approach in their Nations League opener against Poland and Scotland's assistant manager John Carver says they are searching for a "more attack-minded or offensive" system.

The Scots found the net in their first two group games at the Euros although there was an element of fortune about both goals.

Antonio Rudiger nodded past his own goalkeeper in Germany's 5-1 rout of Scotland and Scott McTominay's strike against the Swiss was helped by a massive deflection.

McTominay and Aston Villa's John McGinn pose the main goal threats against Poland, playing off striker Lyndon Dykes, who missed the Euros due to injury.

Scotland have a proud Nations League home record, winning seven and drawing one of their eight matches on their own patch, and they scored ten goals in four home European Championship qualifiers.

Both teams to score is a tempting price given that Poland still have players of the class of Piotr Zielinski and Jakub Moder teeing up record goalscorer Robert Lewandowski.

A thigh injury hampered the prolific Lewandowski at the Euros as Poland, like Scotland, finished bottom of their group with one point.

However, there were goals at both ends in all three of their Group D fixtures – a 2-1 loss to the Netherlands, a 3-1 defeat to Austria and a 1-1 draw with France – and they too have a point to prove in the Nations League.
