Northern Ireland vs Belarus predictions
Northern Ireland ignited their Nations League campaign during the last international break and they can close in on promotion to League B when they welcome Belarus to Windsor Park on Friday night.
It finished goalless when the pair locked horns in Hungary in October, although Northern Ireland were the dominant and more inventive side, winning the shot count 15-6 at the ZTE Arena in Zalaegerszeg.
Michael O'Neill's men were rewarded for their attacking efforts a few days later, though, as they thrashed Bulgaria 5-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Standard Liege midfielder Isaac Price.
That Windsor Park rout saw Northern Ireland climb to top of Group C3 with seven points from four matches and a win on Friday would guarantee them a place in the top two and put them on the brink of promotion.
Therefore, there is no room for complacency but they will be made to work hard in that endeavour by visitors Belarus, who are just a point behind their hosts in second.
Defensive pair Paddy McNair and Eoin Toal have been ruled out of this month's matches due to injury, giving O'Neill a headache over which defenders to deploy in his favoured 3-4-2-1 formation.
But whoever lines up at the back for the hosts may not be tested too heavily by Belarus, who have scored just twice in their four Nations League matches.
Northern Ireland's five-star show against Bulgaria last month was something of an anomaly given they had scored just nine times in their ten matches beforehand, so goals could be at a premium in Belfast.
Belarus's four group outings have produced only three goals in total and a bet on Northern Ireland to win and under 3.5 goals looks the way to go in what could be a cagey and attritional affair.
Key stat
Northern Ireland have won their last three matches at Windsor Park without conceding.
