Saturday's National League football predictions

The New Lawn is the venue for the headline National League fixture of the weekend as league leaders York visit nearest pursuers Forest Green.

Just one point separates the pair after 17 games and a tight encounter is expected.

Both teams have been in fine form with Rovers unbeaten in six matches – they've won five times in that spell – and the Minstermen on a 12-game stretch without defeat, a golden run that includes nine victories.

The goals have flowed for the promotion-chasing pair this term, with each failing to find the back on only three occasions. Forest Green have scored in all six of their home matches while York have been kept off the scoresheet just once in eight away trips.

It might be too close to call from a match-betting perspective but backing both teams to score looks a shrewd move in this top-of-the-table clash.

Yeovil initially struggled to adjust on their return to the top tier of non-league football, losing five of their first ten National League fixtures this season.

However, some new-found resilience at the back has helped Mark Cooper’s side turn their fortunes around.

Yeovil are unbeaten in seven league outings and have conceded just once in their last five matches, four of which have been victories. And The Glovers can prolong their excellent run of form with a home win over Halifax this weekend.

The inconsistent Shayman have lost three of their last seven matches and could slip to a third defeat in four league matches on the road in Somerset.
