Saturday's National League football predictions

Last season’s National League runners-up Barnet are aiming to go one better this campaign and seal promotion back to the EFL.

The season got off to a bad start with defeat to Halifax but three wins on the spin, including an impressive 2-1 victory over promotion rivals Southend United, has seen the Bees move up to fifth spot.

A surprise 3-1 defeat to Maidenhead on Monday can be put right this weekend with the visit of Tamworth to The Hive. Barnet are rightly heavy favourites to pick up all three points at home and backing the Bees to win -1 in the handicap market offers excellent value.

Tamworth have found life hard since promotion from the National League North with two defeats and two draws from their opening four matches but got their first victory of the season last time out.

Wealdstone sealed their first success of the season with a 1-0 victory over Fylde on Monday afternoon but face a tougher opponent in Solihull.

The Moors lost last season’s playoff final on penalties to Bromley and have not quite hit the form of that campaign but are expected to be up challenging for promotion once more.

Defeat to Fylde on the opening day came as a shock but Andy Whing’s side bounced back and won two of the last four, including a 1-0 away victory over Halifax earlier this week, and have the ability to make it two on the spin with a home win over Wealdstone.
