Saturday's National League football predictions

Southend United have struggled to live up the their billing as promotion challengers with just two wins from their opening nine matches. However, the Shrimpers have looked good in front of goal scoring in all bar one match and both teams have hit the back of the net in six of their fixture.

Host Solihull have an identical record to Kevin Maher’s visitors with both teams scoring in six of nine matches and the Moors have blanked in just one match so far this campaign making both teams to score an attractive proposition.

An outside punt for this fixture would be for Southend defender Gus Scott-Morriss to continue his incredible form in front of goal. The right-back has scored seven goals in nine games and sits second in the charts.

Barnet were one of the pre-season favourites for promotion, and after six wins from the opening nine matches, the Bees are living up to that billing, lying in third just two points behind league leaders York after nine matches.

Dean Brennan’s side are in good form with three wins in their last four as they make the short trip to Wealdstone, and they are worth backing to win the local derby.

The Stones have struggled in this campaign, sitting only one point off the bottom of the table and having won just one match in nine. Their home record is poor with three defeats from four, making Barnet good value to take all three points.
