Saturday's National League football predictions

Following back-to-back defeats, Halifax will be looking to get their National League playoff push back on track when they host a Woking side who are winless in their last eight league fixtures.

The Shaymen are rightly favoured to take all three points, but there appears to be better value in backing over 2.5 goals in this match. More than half of Halifax’s home fixtures have featured three or more goals, while five of Woking’s eight away games have seen three or more strikes.

Four of Halifax’s last five matches have yielded at least three goals as have four of Woking’s last six, including their last three away fixtures, which makes it an appealing option at the Shay Stadium.

Title-chasing Forest Green look generously priced for their trip to out-of-sorts Maidenhead. Steve Cotterill’s side are just one point off non-league leaders York and a win this weekend would set them up nicely for a home clash with their promotion rivals next time out.

Rovers are unbeaten in five league matches, winning four, with their only dropped points in that period coming against Woking, against whom they were down to ten men for 69 minutes.

Maidenhead, meanwhile, are winless in three and hold one of the worst home records in the National League, having taken just nine points from a possible 24.

Coupled with Forest Green’s impressive away record - they have accrued a divisional high of 18 points from ten matches - a win for Cotterill’s men offers good value.
