Hartlepool have never reached an EFL Trophy final but they can seal a trip to Wembley by defeating League One highflyers Rotherham in their semi-final at Victoria Park.

The Monkey Hangers were National League playoff winners last season and are consolidating nicely in League Two having risen to 12th in the standings.

However, Graeme Lee's side have saved some of their best performances for the knockout competitions and are searching for a sixth League One scalp, having overcome Wycombe and Lincoln in the FA Cup and Sheffield Wednesday, Bolton and Charlton in the EFL Trophy.

Defeating League One leaders Rotherham would probably be their biggest achievement but they look decent value to prevail.

Rotherham would love a trip to Wembley, but promotion is their priority and their main focus will be on Saturday's trip to Wycombe.
